UPDATE: 3:48pm June 9th 2014
At their E3 2014 press conference June 9th, EA showed gameplay of Mirror's Edge along with a video featuring the developers, DICE. They talked about the importance of flow and speed during the freerunning elements, intercut with live freerunning video and actual gameplay showing Faith run-kicking guards via walls and railings, all the while moving forward. Combat appears to be more seamless this time around, though at no point was she shown firing a gun. The demo was impressive but showed very little of the game and there's no word as to whether it will be playable on the show floor once E3 starts tomorrow - Tuesday June 10th.
Spike's E3 2014 programming schedule, located here over at Game Trailers, reveals that EA will be revealing SOMETHING about Mirror's Edge 2, the long awaited sequel to Mirror's Edge, during their press conference.
From the schedule:
EA World Premiere 2014
3:00 – 4:00 PM ET (Noon – 1 PM PT)
Live from the Shine Exposition Center, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson reveals Battlefield: Hardline and world premieres nearly a half-dozen new games, including updates on Mirror's Edge, Dragon Age: Inquisition, a new project from Criterion Games, and much more.
Not quite sure what that means, but we'll know soon enough! Stay tuned to Wikia's E3 2014 Portal for all the latest Mirror's Edge 2 news. Check out the Mirror's Edge 2 teaser trailer from last year's EA Press Conference below.
